View Full Version : any reviews regarding the V3 RAZR?
hi! my wife is planning on buying this phone...
she presently has a nokia 6680 and would really like to switch to a black RAZR because she's in love with its design. a black, sleek, elegant, metal clamshell phone.
i know it's real drawback is it's memory (or lack of). but she says she doesn't care. all she wants is to play her fave text twist java game on her phone... it would work on the RAZR would it? it worked on her 6680.
i'm not really a motorola user and i dunno how hard or easy it is to operate (many say its contacts menu is a real pain). any other comments about this phone? what's to like and what's not to like? thanks!

I would do a search for the Motorola RAZR online, and you'll get a lot of results with reviews. It's the same as the silver RAZR, which has been out since I think last November, so it's been around for awhile now.

The obvious choice would be to read Michael's review here on MobileBurn:rolleyes:
It saddens me that your wife is switching from the 6680 to the RAZR V3...she's a fashion victim!!!:p So can I have her 6680? Just kidding...

true! true! a fashion victim. well i was really the one that pushed her into buying a 6680 over the then-silver only RAZR, the samsung P730 and the SE S700i. but now that the black RAZR came out she's crazy over it. i would give it to you if i was filthy rich :D but alas i'm not.

See, that's a fashion phone I could go for...it's got looks AND brains! Well, actually, I could definitely go for the 7610 too...
To me, the RAZR is as someone wrote "old technology in a new body"...cause honestly, my 3650 could do more than that thing:rolleyes:

ur 3650 does a lot more than most phones.
The RAZR doesnt try to be brainy, just as the 3650 doesnt try (well it does but fails) to be beautiful. But the basics the razr does it does well. It might not be enstein but on the whole she(the razr) is jo average.
The black razr is a nifty little moto. The wife cares not for the hyper phone fan features, just the superficial aesthetic quality it exudes. Excellent choice imo as a fashion phone.

depends on the circles you move in. if i came into work clutching a V3 i'd be ridiculed, which rather defeats the point of trying to be fashionable. On the other hand if you showed an alien all the phones in the world and asked him to pick one he'd clearly have the Razr. but he'd pick a 50p coin over a £50 note aswell.

well i doubt most people move in circles where everyone is a phones sales consultant.
the v3 Razr is cool in every circle i walk in and i move in lots of circles (so i like walking around roundabouts, ur point? lol. jk)
the only problem most would have is that bit sticking out at the bottom. imo very useful cos if u take it away i think it would be harder to use.
50p coin over a 50GBP note, well the alien would see real/AT the moment round the universe value. PAPER or METAL. HMMM.

That'd be cool to be in a phone sales consultant circle...Americans in general think the RAZR is the pinnacle of technology, which is annoying because trying to convince them otherwise is pointless...
In this case, though, you are right...if she doesn't care about functionality, it's a decent phone. And I resent you think the 3650 is ugly:rolleyes:...:p
I wish I had a 50GBP note...

well it might be the pinnacle of technology in the sense that its fitting al lthose things into such a slim frame.
also the screen is better than ur 3650. nicer newer keypad "technology"...
i thought ur 3650 was dead?
well my wife goes for functionality... she had a 7650, a P800 and a p910i before, not to mention the 6680 now. it's just that now her preference for function just got overshadowed by fashion since she saw that motorola. well the black V3 really does shout FASHION!!! :D:D:D
for me, i'd go for function over fashion (i had a 3650 for a year) :)

Well hopefully when the new P-series comes out it will be both function and fashion. Although I do think that the p910i is a pretty damn good looking device. Similarly the N70 is cool as well. I just bought a Pan x800 (haven't received yet) to try out as I think it looks pretty good and you get a series 60 UI, albeit an older one. Maybe it's form and function I'm looking for???? :D
The V3 defenitely looks cool, but its got a Motorola UI ;)

features are fact, beauty is an opinion.
i guess thats how id rationalise the p900 being called good looking. lol.
does anyone have any solid news on the new p-series or is everything going round atm just roumers?
